Original Works: Fates of Two

December 1993

The fates of two shall join as one.
With love now found, which can't be done.
We'd moved apart, and far away.
And never knew we felt this way.

Now after mail and calls untold,
We'll meet and watch the fates unfold.
We're closer now than we were then.
If we had stayed, what would have been?

A six year wish is now too late.
The time it took - too long to wait.
The love that was, will always be.
Forever friends is all I see.

For going back cannot be done.
Since I have found my only one.
I often think of her and me,
And if my love were not to be.

I love her still, never undone.
The present is now - the past is gone.
The "ifs" and "mights" we cannot see.
So I will stay, with mine to be.

If going back, time would allow,
knowing all things which I do now,
I do not know what would be done,
When fates of two now join as one.
