Original Works: Closing of the Tower

March 1995

Remember the tower
Up high on the hill?
They say in the springtime
Some see it still...

Climb the steep road
It's back through the trees.
Away from the city,
And feel the cool breeze.

The sign says it opens,
But that is a lie.
For never a soul
Was ever seen by.

The gate is resealed,
But persistance breaks through.
Crack open the secrets
Known only by few.

This time it's secure.
Enigmas held tight.
Forever it's sealed.
Cut off from the night.
