The feeling was right
The timing was wrong
Why didn't I see
This love come along.

I don't understand
How it came about,
But now that it's here
I can't do without.

Whatever caused this.
Since there is another
And one I would miss.

Temptation is great,
I could not leave mine.
Just unlucky fate.

I don't understand
What lead me astray.
It's something in her.
Some part of her way.

I don't understand
Why love is so blind.
The feelings inside
Mixed up in my mind.

I don't understand
Why it's hard to choose.
Decisions are many.
Bad move and I lose.

I don't understand
"Just friends" cannot be.
A few more short weeks
And I will be free.
