Philosophy: Taking life seriously

When I say I don't take things seriously, that only applies to things that just concern me. It doesn't bother me when annoying little things happen to me.

I don't get upset when I hear people talking about me. If it's something that would help me improve myself, then I'll take it under consideration, but if it's something silly or against my beliefs, I ignore it because it's more trouble than it's worth to confront them. If people don't like me, that's their choice, and I'm not going to bother them.

Things I do take seriously are things that concern others. If I hear people saying untrue things about other people, it does bother me. Since it's not me, I can't just ignore it. I especially hate stereotypes.

I also take relationships very seriously. Whether it's friendships, or the girl I'm dating, if I make that commitment to someone, I will help them however possible, and would never purposly do anything to damage that relationship.
